The eStore
In this system you will find every product offered by AHS. Plastic Kits, Decals, Diecast and Pre-Finished models and selected Magazines and DVD's – they are all here.
"Handling" Charge
All orders under $25.00 before shipping will be charged a $5.00 handling charge. This is automatically added to the postage charge at checkout time, and will appear on your final invoice mailed with your order. This handling charge will NOT apply to back order shipments, and will NOT apply to "standing orders" for monthly magazines (e.g. WAFN).
A customer asked "If I place a small second order, that ships with a another order already "In Process", will the Handling charge apply"? Answer is "No".... but please remind me in the Checkout Notes of the other order! I will combine and if the new total before shipping is over $25, the Handling Charge will not apply.
Price Guarantee
Prices shown on this site can only be honoured for 'in stock' items. If an item is out of stock, and in particular if it is imported, prices are subject to adjustment.
"Complete Order" Policy
Since re-launching this site two years ago, I have made it my policy to attempt to send "complete orders", with a minimum of "back order" items. This saves you shipping $$$, and saves me a lot of time. With over 7,000 items listed here, it is very difficult to keep all items in stock all the time. Hence I pull and pack as much of every order that I can, then place orders for the missing items. Most of my suppliers are able to fill these orders quickly, however some take months to complete and ship my orders. Hence, I have modified this policy, and will now only hold orders for a select group of highly responsive suppliers. Out of stock items from all other suppliers will be back ordered. Who are these "highly responsive" suppliers? The current list includes, but is not limited to, Draw Decals, TwoSix, Contrails, GeminiJets, InFlight, Dragon WIngs, JetX, F-Rsin, Avigraphics, Flying Colors, RBX Decals, Daco Skyline.
Shipping - U.S. Destinations:
U.S. domestic shipments will be sent by US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Post, with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation. Only small 'decal only' orders (under 8 ounces, generally up to 12 decals) will be sent by USPS domestic First Class mail. If you want to avoid the $1.95 extra cost for "Signature Confirmation" on Priority Post packages (already included in the quoted postage), please let us know in the "Additional Comments or Special Instructions:" box at checkout. As always, postage charged is at cost, and excess paid is always refunded.
Note, however, that ALL U.S. orders sent to office or work address, or to anywhere other than your Billing Address, must be sent Priority Post with "Signature Required" Delivery Confirmation.
Also, the USPS recently changed how shipping costs are calculated for "large" parcels. Basically, anything sent Priority Post that exceeds 1,728 cubic inches (e.g. 12" x 12" x 12" or any variation) is done by volume. In such cases, unless you ask me to ship to a USPS PO box, I will ship via UPS Ground, saving you considerable expense. UPS cannot deliver to a USPS PO Box.
Note, we will NOT ship to a Hotel under any circumstances! While we appreciate that international airline crews would like to save money by sending a parcel to their crew hotel, we have repeatedly found that such arrangements usually result in a lost package, while the the carrier (whether FedEx, UPS or the Post Office) insists it was delivered, and will not honour the insurance. We have recently experienced another loss under these circumstances, hence the revision to our policy.
Shipping - International Destinations:
Shipments outside the U.S. are always via the U.S Postal Service to your country's Postal Service. Packages under 4 pounds weight and under 36" L+W+H are sent by USPS Air Mail. Tracking is not available. Larger and/or heavier parcels are sent by USPS International Priority Post, and a tracking number is provided.
Please note that the USPS has 10 different rates for international packages. While this site can quote Canadian rates separately, there is only one option in the system for the other nine rates. I have programed the most commonly used rate.
International FedEx and UPS services are available at your request, at cost plus a $10 surcharge to cover the extensive paperwork required!
Shipping Insurance:
Insurance is available to most countries. Our experience is that very few parcels are ever truly lost, and we have experienced exactly one in 18 years. All other "missing" parcels have shown up eventually, either at their intended destination or back here.
As a matter of policy, we insure all parcels exceeding $200.00 U.S.D. at our expense. We may insure lower value parcels at our discression. Based on individual experiences, we may require that a customer insure all packages regardless of value.
We do file claims with the US Postal Service if a parcel is reported missing, and a reasonable length of time has passed. We cooperate fully with their investigations, and so far we have assisted the USPS (and through the USPS, one foreign Post Office) with two Mail Fraud convictions.
Based on our experience with shipping to certain countries, Insurance may be mandatory. As insurance is not available on International First Class mail, packages to these countries will only be sent by USPS International Priority Post.
Shipping insurance is not available to certain countries, and consequently AHS will not insure packages to these countries. The current list includes, but is not limited to Mexico.
Finally, due to the complete unreliability of postal services in some countries, AHS can no longer ship via the mail to certain countries. AHS has removed these countries from the estore. If you live in one of these countries (and cannot make alternate delivery arrangements) please contact us by email to discuss options.
A Comment re Credit Card Sales:
This system is set up to accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. However all we do when you place your order is Validate the card - we do NOT charge it! We finalize and charge once we pull and pack your order, calculate shipping, and can charge accurately.
Personal Cheques
With regrets, we will no longer accept a Personal Cheque for payment due to a recent rash of NSF cheques.
Shipping Charges:
This system cannot perfectly calculate your shipping costs. It has no idea how big a box is needed, or it's weight! My policy continues to be that you will be charged exact shipping, and your order will be adjusted accordingly. So, if paying by PayPal, please anticipate that you might get a refund, or might be asked to pay the extra required. Note we do not charge "Handling" fees.
Shipping Paints:
